Superior Court Criminal Rule 3.2, as published by Washington Courts, starts from release without conditions if probable cause is not found, and from personal recognizance in noncapital cases unless the court finds an appearance risk or a likely danger of a violent crime or of intimidation, tampering, or protection-order violations. If appearance is the concern, the rule requires the least restrictive conditions, which can include an unsecured bond, a deposit of not more than 10 percent, or a surety bond, and it tells the court to consider financial resources. The PDF says the rule was amended effective December 23, 2025. Courts of limited jurisdiction use CrRLJ 3.2, and that rule text was not retrieved.

Criminal Rules for Courts of Limited Jurisdiction 3.2, published by Washington Courts, uses the same starting point as the superior-court rule: release without conditions if probable cause is not found, and personal recognizance in a noncapital case unless appearance or the stated danger finding applies. The limited-jurisdiction rule says violent crimes may include misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. When bail is required to reasonably assure appearance, it states $500 for a misdemeanor and $1,000 for a gross misdemeanor unless, after a hearing, the court sets a different amount for good cause in a written order. A court may adopt a local rule holding some offenses until a judge appearance. The PDF's amendment line ends with December 23, 2025. These dollar figures are not the superior-court rule.
